"Do not mock what you do not understand."
"Some day you shall see."
From the earliest age, you saw things differently. Whenever religious television came on, you sat avidly, listening to evry detail. Up to the age of 9, you had posters of Jesus all across your bedroom walls. When your parents didn't want to go to Church on a Sunday because it was boring, you explained to them that the Lord put them on this Earth, so the least you could do was say thanks every now and then. Then, you met the Zealots. That changed things.
You abandoned your belief in Jesus Christ and embraced the dark world of the cult. Under the guidance of your messiah, you left your wordly self behind (at least in spirit) and seeked solice with your God. You are one of many dedicates who have forfeited their lives to worship what they believe in; for you, there is no way back. You believe.
When you are out on the streets preaching, you like to wear the same clothes as your subjects. It helps you blend in with them, to make you seem like less of an extremist and more like one of them. Some of them pass comments on your robes when they've seen, but you know that you are right.
You lead a different life when alone or at your retreat worshipping. You find that simple robes have some kind of connection which helps you get in touch with the Lord - whoever he is. The robes are usually black, made of cotton or wool, with a hood and pockets. Simple, you find, is best.
You and your fellow dedicates live together in retreats where the collective cannot bother you. Here you can communicate to the maximum, or find yourself. The retreat is the focal point of your cult, where all worship takes place and where you have the most time.
You leads a life of hardship. Although you don't enjoy it, it helps you see what it is all about - though you won't tell a soul what that is. Central to this life are the 'tests' which all Zealots undertake, whatever their beliefs. The tests aim to determine how pure you are, whether you are suitable for life as a dedicate. The tests vary, but common ones include walking on coals, sacrifices, and survival treks. Those who fail the tests are either abandoned by the group, or killed to save face.
You work in groups to publicise and protect your beliefs. These cells are usually of 6 to 10 people, who know each other well, and have a range of skills. This group stays together for many years, as long as the Lord sees fit. You daren't complain, though, that Flying Goose smells.
There is little communication between you and your Elders. You are expected to further the goals of the cult in whatever way you see fit, with little aid.
You do feel some sense of belonging with your fellow disciples - but your best friend is always the Lord. To suggest that anyone could have a greater role in your life than the Lord, would be to mock his very name..
Though most YoGangs ignore you due to fear and a lack of understanding, there are some who occassionaly help you out. The Guardians don't like seeing anyone's liberty offended, so if your publicity backfires and you are attacked, they sometimes come to your aid. Your cult also shares some principles with the EcoRaiders, who seek to restore nature. You think similarly so often work together where you share a goal.
Materialism is the prime factor for your hatred of some YoGangs. These include GlitterKids, GoldenKids, TinkerTots and Vidiots. You also despise the Goths, beause they show so little regard for the life you believe was especially created for you. Conflicts are rare but bloody, with the Zealots often hiring other gang members to help them out.
The Misunderstood: all non-believers
Slave: technology lover, esp. TinkerTots
Woofer: derogatory term copied from Goths, means hard-core Zealot of dubious sanity
Loser: faking Zealot
This is your skill for demonstrating your beliefs to anyone who will listen. You are great at pestering old ladies in the City, posting flyers all over the place, and any other form of demonstrative worship. You also understand most forms of worship in your cult, and some from other cults, though these are not practiced.
It is also a rating of your own beliefs; anyone with a Faith of 6 or above is totally gone and absolutely believes in her faith. Those on 8 or above can be considered the hard-core element - you will do anything to further your beliefs, and are prone to acts of inspired lunacy. In football terms, you are the fans who go to Grimsby away in December and can still be bothered to incite a riot.
Use the skill to convince others of your beliefs, perform acts of worship and communicate with other Zealots in secret ways.
