"Boards are for babies, get a real car!"
"Whoa, issatta Chry-star Impeller? I Gotta try one a' those!"
"Who are you calling a thief? I don't steal, I borrow on a long term basis..."
Juvenile delinquents. Petty crooks. The bane of civilized folk. You have been called all of these things and worse. The problem is, they were right. With your patent disregard for authority and law, you boost, steal or otherwise rob whatever catches your fancy. Some of your Goboys like cars, some like wallets and jewelry, most just dabble without specializing. All have one thing in common, if you have what they want, then you won't have it for long.
Jeans! Jeans and t-shirts with stim-stick packs rolled up in the sleeves. Many slick their hair back to reflect their slick lifestyle. Others just let their hair go wild. Imagine all of the stereotypes of young punks with too much time and not enough morals to do the right thing. A few light tattoos and some cool shades, and voila! You have a Joyboy!
Many people think that the JoyBoys are just out to steal and have a good time. Most of the time, that's true. At the core of a JoyBoy gang however, is a close knit group of friends who look out for each other. Many times, all a JoyBoy has for family is his gang. The older Joyers act as parental figures of sorts, and the younger Joykids respect this. In public however, you display a fast and loose set of behavior. (After all, you do have a rep to uphold...)
Despite the name "JoyBoy", there are many femjuves in this YoGang. A lot of these little ladies are somewhat miffed by the sexist title, but it's what everyone calls you, so...
Stealing whatever you want, need, or just plain fancy is what everyone expects of you. Why not give them what they want? What you and your goboys are most notorious for, is the JoyRide. This is when the older kids descend on a parking lot, boost several cars, and lead a cross-city demolition derby. This is both dangerous and highly illegal. Most Joyrides don't last too long, as most of the modern cars can't stand up to the constant abuse and police reaction.
Like most yogangs, it's not hard to join the Joyboys. To start, all you have to do is find a friendly Joyboy, and hang out with him/her. Soon, they'll take you with them on a Joyride, and if you don't squeal too loudly, they'll probably show you a few tricks. The real test is when you get caught. If you do time and don't rat out your buddies, you're in. Another road to joining the pack is to care for a Joyboy, or their loved ones. Once in a Joygang, it's hard to leave. The only time a Joyboy will let you hang is if you rat, or if you otherwise betray the gang. At all other times, it's hard to find a closer group of instant friends.
One no-brainer is the Guardians. They dislike you strongly both for the ideals you represent, and the bad taste you leave in the cops mouths. Strangely enough, the GoGangers don't like you much either. Maybe it's because you steal some of their thunder? Finally comes the Golden and Glitter kids. You've taken too much of their stuff for them to take lightly. They will either ignore you or send a thug to break your legs. It depends on their mood.
One Yogang that likes you is the Mallbrats. You have too much in common to be enemies. Besides, who else will fence some of the stuff you take? Another friendly gang is the Tinkertots. You bring them lots of business and more often than not take care of them when things go wrong. (You in turn try to keep this relationship friendly because they are the ones who can make a ride really yours.) The rest of the Gangs don't really care one way or another about you.
Catch a ride: Take a vehicle for uses other than a Joyride.
Rat: Someone who isn't trustworthy, a tattletale, anyone who is scum to you. (Bad to be one.)
Baked: In bad shape, personal or otherwise.
Tri-kler: GoGanger. (As in, tricycle.)
Ward/June: A parental father/mother figure. Used in a friendly way for someone who actually takes care of you, (Sometimes the younger Juves slip up and actually call the older caretakers mom or dad. That's pretty much OK with them.)
JD: As in, Juvenile Delinquent. A compliment!
Scoop is used in many ways. It's used to add to your thiefstuff most of the time. Other times it can be used is to add half to your blend. Add half to your little angel angel when trying to stake out a vehicle. Finally, it can be used to add to Get a clue rolls in order to know what boost NOT to make. In 2027 there are some cars, wallets, and goodies you just don't want a piece of.
1) Tell me your name, age and sex.
