Traders

"He he, what a killing....!"
"Buy! Buy! Buy!.... No, sell!"

No one yogang serves perfectly the needs of capitalism. Kids aren't meant to be into money, right? Wrong. There are kids out there who could teach half of Wall Street a thing or two. Chances are, you'll find a few of these in the Traders.

Background

The gang is made up of members of all yogangs, with differences being put aside while money is at stake. The gang formed in 2026 as a reaction to the continued lack of a yogang in the city dedicated to corporate expansion. Caring for the environment is all well and good, but where will it have got you when you're seventy years old? Nowhere - you'll be a hobo walking the streets, because you were too caught up in looking after a few trees to think about a decent pension scheme.

There are around fifteen members currently with the gang. This fluctuates rapidly as people come and go. Some, who thought they were right for the Traders, find they are not. Others have been there since the beginning. One such member is James Alexander, a seventeen-year old Harvard drop-out. He was sent to the elite school two years early, such was his promise, but found the pressurised lifestyle too much to handle and returned to Night City to "get a life". It has emerged that this basically involves fleecing corpzoners for all they are worth.

James is a well-respected member of the gang community, particularly within the Traders and his own YoGang, the Rads. He has worked the political affiliations of the Rads, with the economic connections of the Traders, to establish a very profitable business. He takes a large share of the profits he makes in trading shares for corpzoners, politicians and other well-to-do members of the community, who respect his name and reputation. Already, he ranks among the wealthiest entepreneurs in the region, and is known to be highly sought after within the ISA.

Activities

The purpose of the gang is to aid financial accumulation. Therefore, all activities exist to serve this purpose. Monthly meetings are convened to exchange information, tips and predictions for the future. These prove particularly invaluable to those playing the stock markets, who face unpredictable odds at the best of times. Together, the Traders have a better than even chance of beating the system. The gang can count among its members a Harvard maths graduate, a systems analyst trained in England, and a top business student from L.A. Together, they make a team even Arasaka wouldn't be ashamed to hire.

The Traders also meet more regularly at their club in the city. This establishment is only months old but already has the feel of an eighteenth-century gentlemans club. Members meet to read the 'papers, play chess, have a round of golf, or just get together with the boys. Many see it as a recluse from the pressures of yogang and family life.
